Kay Sleking is the founder and driving force behind A Brilliant Noise, working at the intersection of music, visual art, and cultural leadership. With a classical conservatory background and many years of experience as a performing musician, educator, arranger, and business leader, he combines artistic intuition with organizational thinking to activate people, ideas, and projects.

 

His work focuses on creating space for collaboration, imagination, and sustainable development within the cultural sector.

Sieta Keizer

Sieta Keizer is a director, dramaturg, and coach with a deeply rooted passion for creative processes, talent development, and program direction. She brings together many years of experience as a theatre maker and artistic director in (music) theatre with her work in coaching and leadership development within the cultural sector.

 

For our concerts, she is responsible for direction and dramaturgy, connecting structure, imagination, and meaningful experiences.

A Brilliant Noise operates under a one-tier board model, in which executive and non-executive board members share responsibility for governance and oversight.

 

Kay Sleking — executive board member (Executive Director)
Responsible for the day-to-day management, the artistic and strategic direction, and the realisation of the foundation’s objectives.

 

Leon Dijkstra — non-executive board member (Chair)
Leon Dijkstra is an entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in strategic development and governance. He acts as a supervisor and sparring partner, contributing his network and strategic insight.

 

Lili Schutte — non-executive board member
A strategic leader in inclusion and educational innovation at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She brings expertise in diversity, education, and leadership within the cultural sector.

The non-executive board members act as supervisors and sparring partners to the executive board member.

Claron McFaddon – soprano

Claron McFaddon is an internationally renowned soprano with an exceptionally versatile career in opera, concert, and music theatre. She has collaborated with leading orchestras, ensembles, and creators worldwide, and is known for her commitment to contemporary music, interdisciplinary work, and artistic innovation.

 

Jörgen van Rijen — principal trombone, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
Jörgen van Rijen is an internationally acclaimed trombonist and soloist, and has been a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for many years. He is actively engaged in the development of new repertoire, education, and talent development, and is a sought-after soloist and teacher.
